The grand event was led by Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo, Otileta VII, the Olowu of Owu, serving as a proud symbol of unity and identity for the Owu people. This year’s celebration held particular significance, with Owu being the ancestral home of former President Olusegun Obasanjo,
who also serves as the Balogun and Prime Minister of the Owu Kingdom. His presence contributed a profound sense of pride and continuity, reinforcing the enduring legacy and solidarity of the Owu community. Former Ogun State Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun also attended, joining in the celebration. Owu Day remains a cherished tradition, filled with vibrant cultural displays, music, and dance.
