An Ibadan-based sociocultural group, Egbe Borokini, has distributed school bags and exercise books to 150 students across three schools in 11 local government areas in Ibadan, Oyo State
The event, according to a statement by its public relations officer, Borokini Rifkat Folorunsho Atoloye, held at the Olubadan of Ibadanland’s palace.
Aare Yusuff Olatunji, the group’s president, expressed gratitude to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin, the Chairman of Oyo SUBEB, Chairman Dr Nurein Adeniran and all the Education Secretaries from the 11 local government councils in Ibadan, as well as Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa, the Chairman of the Oyo State Park Managers System.
Aare Yusuff also commended the teachers who accompanied the students and noted that Borokini has around 60 members worldwide.
The guest lecturer, Oloye Saheed Oladele, Baameko of Ibadan land, encouraged the beneficiaries of the back-to-school initiative to not let their backgrounds dictate their success, urging them to strive to excel among their peers.
The event was attended by several dignitaries from Ibadanland, including the Olubadan’s representative, Oloye Ogunwale, the Gbonka Olubadan, the BOT Chairman of Borokini, Ibrahim Olaniyan, Mogaji Fosunpaja dynasty, the President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Amofin Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole, Borokini Surajuden Asukuna, and Mogaji Kola Olootu.
